Saddle fitting services

Based in Kent and covering the south east of England I offer a full holistic saddle fitting service with the focus always on your horse's comfort and wellbeing. 

I am a certified western saddle fitter, trained by The Western Saddler, and have a holistic, equine focused approach to saddle fitting for both western treed and treeless saddles.

I fit and advise on Barefoot  and Ghost treeless saddles and Christ Lammfelle and Barefoot bareback pads.

I can check the fit of your existing saddle and for those who want a new saddle I can measure, advise and order a custom made saddle for you and your horse.

My goal is to give you and your horse a lifetime of comfortable riding and I do this by

• conducting an assessment of your horse's back, posture, conformation and behaviour
• listening to your plans for the future and your aspirations  
• recommending a saddle style and configuration to suit your size and shape, how you like to ride and what activities you intend to do with your horse

If you're looking for a new western saddle I'll establish which tree is the best  shape for your horse's back, (or make a template of your horse's back) and record the small adjustments that need to be made to that tree to make it fit their contours perfectly. 

For Barefoot I carry the pommel templates and can advise on shimming and girthing.

I am an agent for Ghost saddles so can bring a range of styles for you to try and advise on what's best for you and your horse.

An initial consultation usually takes 1.5-2hrs and there will be follow up conversations and ongoing support if needed.

If you decide to order a new western or treeless saddle you'll then choose the style of saddle you want and customise it making it unique to you and your horse.

I recommend Mattes saddle pads and cinches/girths due to their superior quality and you won't regret choosing one - they are stunning! You can choose the style of pad, colours and detailing and then once your saddle is ready I'll bring everything to you, fit the saddle, make any adjustments needed and  you're ready to ride!

By the end of the process you will have a saddle fitted to your horse and to you and in your favourite colours and designs so it will be truly unique!

Consultation fee: £95 per horse

Travel expenses including tolls, up to £25

Fitting of your new saddle (if you purchase a new one) is included in the consultation fee but travel will be payable.

If you have any concerns and want your new saddle checked in the first year after fitting only travel is payable.  

If I come to see the same horse again within a year for something else then the fee is £40 plus travel.

A full consultation fee will be payable for any horse I see for the first time.
